HIGH: This issue essentially breaks the site. If not literally, will give a completely incorrect result lead to a high possibility of the Plan Finder recommending an inappropriate plan. These are in immediate priority need of fixing.
Impact to beneficiary: The beneficiary will have documentary evidence by the Medicare Plan Finder showing potentially incorrect drug and/or medical costs, incorrect formulary advice, and proof of a recommendation by Medicare for an appropriate plan that is not in their best interest.
Impact to agent: Same as beneficiary.
MEDIUM: Conclusions, or the way to get to them, are muddy and/or potentially misleading. The data and functionality may not be fully impaired. However, the way to reach the proper conclusions are convoluted, leading easily to either incorrect searches, data entry, or results. These issues are serious, however the site is functional with them and they can be addressed after the high priority issues have been.
Impact to beneficiary: High probability the beneficiary will accept faulty data and follow through to improper conclusion. Or they will get frustrated and give up.
Impact to agent: There is a reasonable chance the agent may be able to notice the problem and correct or workaround. However it can slow down work speed and reduce number of beneficiaries served per day. Additionally, agents may also accept faulty data and follow through to wrong conclusion. Agents will have documented how Medicare’s Plan Finder led them to such.
LOW: Site functionality not impaired, however something from the site was removed or needs to be added to assist with running the finder properly. This is likely a feature that was removed from the old site to the new and not a list. It is possible this could lead to improper conclusions, but more likely this will have the impact of slowing down and inconveniencing all who use it. Some of these issues may in fact be “Medium,” but are not in immediate need of fixing. This is not intended to be a wish list, but a list of features that are present and not working as expected, or a loss of features.
Impact to Beneficiary: Confusion, muddiness, potentially giving up on completing a search or taking shortcuts leading to improper conclusions.
Impact to Agents: Slowing down their work speed. Should not impact their ability to find proper conclusions.
